Why Tottenham will finish ahead of Chelsea

The premier league is prepping up and all clubs are busy in the transfer market. The top six clubs are doing the biggest business as usual, attracting the best players. Two of the top six clubs, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs have also been making some deals in the transfer market.

The two are also the best finished London side in the league last season, with Tottenham finishing third while Chelsea finished fifth on the log.

With the new season close by, there are projections as to how well each side will perform. This is based on the kind of summer each side is having. The players coming in, players leaving, club crisis, fans support for coach and management and many factors will be considered.

Chelsea ended the season as the FA cup winner after what seem to look like a disappointing season. The Blues finishing outside the top four after just being league champions less than twelve months ago. This mean that Roman Abrahamovic, known for his ruthlessness with such performance, let Antonio Conte go.

Letting Conte go has now not been the greatest worry for Chelsea because they have gotten a very good replacement in Maurizio Sarri, but looking at their best players’ contract situations, you will be worried for the future of Chelsea.

Eden Hazard has refused to sign a new contract and have also given hint that he could be heading to Real Madrid after the world cup. Thibaut Courtos have also not committed to the club on a long term. He could be heading back to Spain, where his family still resides. Real Madrid are also monitoring his situation.

To mention Kante link with Barcelona is one that will break the heart of many Chelsea fans. The French midfielder has had an outstanding career growth in the last three years and he has attracted interest from the biggest clubs in the world.

If any of this deal pull through, Chelsea will have a big hole to fill in any of the three positions. Those are practically the three players that have been key to Chelsea success in the last two seasons.

Compare this with a Tottenham team that will be moving back to White Hart Lane after the renovation of their stadium. Spurs got their best player, Harry Kane to sign a new long term deal to ward off any interest from the big boys.

Players like Keiran Trippier, Ben Davies, Son and Lucas Moura are now becoming players that will last seasons for the club after a very good campaign last term out. These gives the team confidence for the coming season.

Mauricio Pochettino staying at the club is even more reason to be optimistic that Spurs have a very good chance of finishing ahead of the Blues. The manager now know that after the break down they had two seasons ago while attempting to challenge for the title which Chelsea won, they are now experienced and knows that attempting to win the premier league is something they should be challenging for.

With the current situation at Chelsea, except the club and Sarri finds a way to deny Hazard, Kante and Courtois transfers, finishing in the top four will be a good outing for the Blues. Tottenham just seems to be in the right realm, at the moment to lead the flag of London in the premier league, just as they did last season.
