Arsenal to secure Luis Enrique as Wenger’s successor despite Chelsea interest

North London giants Arsenal are sure of convincing Luis Enrique to join them ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The former FC Barcelona manager is wanted by both premier League teams clubs who are getting prepared for a battle over his signature.

French tactician Arsene Wenger stunned the football world on Friday when he made it public his plans to step aside at the end of the campaign.

Arsenal are considering a long managerial list of potential successors which includes a couple of ex-players.

Spaniard Luis Enrique is supposedly the favourite and it looks like the Gunners are set to move as fast as possible to get their managerial target.

However, according to a report by The Mirror, the North Londoners believe they have an advantage over their City rivals.

The club’s Director of football relations, Raul Sanllehi has a link with the former Barcelona head coach dating back to the pairs working together at the catalan club.

Sanllehi left his position as Barcelona’s football Director to join the Emirates club in February.

Enrique’s demands are likely to be a major issue as he would demand about £15m-per-term.

Arsene Wenger is presently paid about £9million-per-yesr which is significantly lower than the amount the likes of  Pep Guardiola earns at Premier league side Manchester City.

Antonio Conte looks very likely to depart Chelsea and head back to Italy this summer.

He has had a couple of fallouts with Russian Billionaire owner Roman Abramovich as last season’s English Premier League winners have staggered.
